How is working with PsychSystems
different than working with another contractual provider?
First- PsychSystems is owned and operated by psychologists who continue to practice psychology. We are not some
large institutional company with management who has no idea what a human service professional has to do these days.
PsychSystems was designed to allow psychologists a way to do their work without the administrative hassles of the
typical contractual clinic. We do everything in our power to avoid wasting your time- because we understand how
frustrated we can be when our time gets wasted (not to mention the reduced income that follows wasted time.)
Second- The PsychSystems method is designed to allow you to be paid for all of your client based work. Are you
tired of fee for service systems that pay you for your client appointment but then expect you to write extensive
treatment plans and assessments on your own time, to stay on the telephone with insurance companies for free and
to fill in reams of agency paperwork (usually with the same information) for no compensation. At PsychSystems,
we have developed methods to insure that you are being paid for the work that you do and that the administrative
hassles are reduced to nearly nothing. By use of our Unified Billing System© and our computerized data system,
the administrative mess that most people encounter in other clinics is taken care of. No muss, no fuss, no waste
(and increased dollars per hour for your clinical efforts- the most important thing of all).
Third- PsychSystems has sufficient business to keep you as busy as you would like. We are the largest Psychology
provider for the Wayne county MCPN system with over 1200 active clients. We are also a provider for Aetna, PPOM,
BC/ BS Magellan Behavioral Health,, Magellan EAP services as well as Care Choices HMO and PPO. We are also a growing
Personal and Executive Coaching practice meaning that we will soon be able to offer opportunities to our clinicians
in this new area of the helping profession.
Is PsychSystems for everyone? No
it is not. A successful PsychSystems contractor should be:
 Self motivated
and a self starter
Able to
deal with different types of clients
Business
minded in terms of developing and maintaining relationships with clients and with referral sources
Able to
efficiently deal with written material and documentation
Computer
literate and able to learn new methods to automate tasks
Psychologists should have at least an LLP, but TLLPs are also welcome under certain circumstances. Technicians
should have a BA/BS in a human service field (including Education, Social work, Sociology or Psychology). Nurses
must have an RN, Physicians must have mental health experience (Board Certification in Psychiatry is not required,
but preferred).
